An Unnatural Disaster: The Forgotten Victims

Victims of Hurricane Katrina have received lots of media coverage. Victims of abortion have not.
As the nation remembers the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the largest natural disaster in US history, the carnage has rightly spurred us to an outpouring of relief.   As we remember the victims of this recent tragedy, let us not forget about the unnatural disaster in the womb – abortion.  This unnatural disaster called “choice” takes the lives of over 3000 Americans everyday.

Why do Americans support the Katrina disaster relief,  but ignore the plight of the unborn?

Why do Americans write big checks to the Red Cross and the United Way, but ignore pro-life organizations, which are struggling to raise funds?

Could it be because the press made the victims of Katrina so painfully real?  After all, we have been shown pictures of the Katrina tragedy on television night after night for weeks now.   Grieving relatives were interviewed.  Their backgrounds were profiled.   The press also made real the horror of the victim’s deaths.  The sight of bodies floating in flood waters tortured us.   We were sickened by the ensuing unrest and looting.  Pictures of people desperate for help at the Superdome grieved us.   We gasped as the body count mounted.   The images were published and broadcast until they became unbearable.   Thus was forged a national consensus that, somehow, each of us must come to the aid of the victims, personally, regardless of the cost.

Sadly, no such consensus exists concerning abortion -- even in the church.

The victims of abortion are anonymous.   The horror of abortion is invisible.   Of course American’s aren’t haunted by abortion.   How could they be?

The good news for the forgotten unborn victims of disaster, thanks to you, is that CBR is changing all that.   CBR is doing for the public’s perception of abortion what the media has done for people’s understanding of Katrina.   With your help we are attaining our goal.  Please pray for our efforts as we continue to call the nation to repentance for the shedding of innocent blood.

CBR Midwest Needs “Choice” Billboard Drivers

Do you have a regular driver’s license?  Do you live in the state of Ohio?  Do you want to save unborn babies and their parents from the abortionist’s knife?  If yes, then CBR Midwest needs your help!

CBR Midwest’s Reproductive “Choice” Campaign needs drivers for our billboard vans.  You DO NOT need a commercial driver’s license to volunteer for us.  If you or anyone you know is in a position to sacrifice 4 hours one day a week or every other week please contact CBR Midwest at 614-759-5195 or CBRMidwest@cbrinfo.org.   Ask around at your church or put an announcement in the bulletin.  The more often the billboards are displayed the more children are spared from abortion.

CBR Keeps Bringing the Message to Our Youth

The Center for Bio Ethical Reform’s (CBR), Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) will be displayed at two public universities in September.  CBR Midwest is working with Marlys Honeyman, CBR’s South Dakota director, in their very first GAP tour.  This is an integral part of CBR’s unwavering commitment to making abortion real to thousands of Americans.  CBR will visit:

  • University of South Dakota
  • South Dakota State University

CBR is making a difference.  Here are some recent website testimonies regarding our work:

I have always been against abortion but when I heard people saying they wanted to get it done I wouldn’t try to stop them because I always thought it was their choice.  Now I am going to try as hard as I can to stop them. --22 yr. old female from Decatur, IL

The pictures, as horrifying as they are, are the only thing that tells people the true facts.  If everyone saw them, abortion would become a thing of the past. -- 39 yr. old female from the UK

I have always thought abortion was MY right.  Now I think I will never ever take the risk to get pregnant-- 30 yr. old female

And then there are always a few of these type of comments:

How would you like it if I parked trucks in your neighborhood with pictures of gay men copulating?-- 30 yr. old Male from Columbus, OH

Higher Fuel Prices Increase Cost of “Creating the Debate” on Abortion

CBR Midwest’s Reproductive “Choice” Trucks convert diesel fuel into living infants.  Unfortunately, with rising fuel costs, our billboards are becoming more expensive to display.  With gas prices increasing about 35% in the last several months this has added over $400 to our monthly operation costs.  Please help us defray these additional expenses.

Also, we have experienced a drop off of some of our most dedicated long term supporters this year.  We don’t know why.  Often no reason is given.  This is often called “donor fatigue.”  The fact is: we doing great work and need long term monthly supporters.

Attracting new financial supporters is difficult.  To reach more people CBR Midwest has done dozens of presentations this summer.   If you have become less than regular in your support, please consider recommitting to support us monthly or send us a special gift to help defray the additional cost of fuel to run our billboard trucks.
