Northwest Ohio Campuses See Genocide
On April 16-17, 2007, CBR Midwest took the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) to Bowling Green State University (BGSU). This visit represents the second time GAP has visited BGSU. Ohio is a key state in the upcoming presidential campaign and Bowling Green represents a strategic target in changing public opinion on abortion. Read this comment from the leader of the BGSU student group who invited GAP:
We had some reservations at first about the use of graphic pictures, but we are very glad you came. Many students are uneducated about the development of unborn babies and the laws regarding abortion, and GAP does an excellent job of educating students and encouraging discussion. -- Gina Tortorella, President, Falcons for Life
Columnist Accuses CBR of Photo Fraud
The BGNews op-ed entitled "Pro-life group using scare tactics, lies" accused the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform of photo fraud in its display of aborted baby images as part of the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) which appeared on the BGSU campus on April 16-17, 2007. The bogus accusation is supposedly based entirely on the statement of an alleged abortion clinic worker/protester who said "The signs that say 9 to 10 week old are false," but moreover, "at that age, a fetus is still microscopic." This accusation is not new.
The following is an excerpt from Mark Harrington's published response in the BGNews.
Of course, no amount of evidence will satisfy dogmatic pro-abortionists.
Impugning the accuracy of our pictures is the same sort of tactic used by neo-Nazis in response to condemnation of the Holocaust. Skinheads just say death-camp photos are fake. They say the Holocaust never happened, and the Final Solution is a slanderous, anti-Arian fairytale. Pro-abortionists likely wouldn't acknowledge the legitimacy of any abortion photos, even if they took the pictures themselves -- of abortions performed in their very presence.

These responses may seem routine to some of our long time supporters, but we trust that they continue to bring encouragement. We certainly never tire of sharing them with you! But despite being told in Mt. 7:20 that you will know them by their fruits," we continue to face criticism from some pro-lifers who disagree with our strategy. This criticism has a negative effect on our efforts to find support. Please continue to send your gifts.
GAP Travels to University of Toledo (UT)
On April 18-19, CBR Midwest displayed abortion images as part of the Northwest Ohio GAP tour. This is our first visit to UT. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by frothing at the mouth pro-aborts that were incensed that we were granted permission to display abortion on the campus. When asked who gave us permission to set up GAP our standard answer is James Madisonthe writer of the US Constitution! Fred Cooper, President of College Republicans, said this about the impact of GAP at UT:
The people that we affected there aren't going to be the ones who came up and agreed with us, but the minds we changed are the ones who just quietly walked by the pictures and reflected on the issue. You guys do a great service and it is really inspiring to see how dedicated you are to this great mission.
Comments from Students at UT

Summer 2007 Brings Opportunity Urban GAP
During the summer university attendance is substantially lower than during the rest of the year. Therefore, CBR finds opportunity elsewhere to show and debate abortion. Recently, CBR Midwest launched Urban GAP. In June, we displayed GAP in downtown Cleveland, OH. In August, we will display the genocide of abortion in downtown Dayton, OH (more on these events next month). The work continues even during the doldrums of summer. Sadly, during the summer, financial support often doesn't keep up with the pace of our work. Summer is when giving to our work often drops markedly.
Please don't forget to support CBR Midwest during the summer months. The killing doesn't stop during the summer, so we can't stop either. Don't allow a lack of finances to hurt our ability to save lives! We continue to need your partnership now.
Important: Remember to write "GMO" (stands for Gift Midwest Office) in the memo portion of your check in order for the funds to be deposited in the CBR Midwest operations fund.
